Elementary Food Hygiene

This is being run by Abundant Borders in partnership with BAVS.

A basic course which may be of interest to volunteers running community cafes and lunch clubs. The course covers:

  • The benefits of high standards of food hygiene and food safety legislation

  • The incidence of food poisoning and its prevention

  • The role of food safety management systems in managing hazards and risk

Candidates are required to sit a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course.

The course will be delivered by Annie Casey, who is a registered REHIS (Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland) trainer.

Lunch will be provided by Abundant Borders
