This is being run by Abundant Borders in partnership with BAVS.
A basic course which may be of interest to volunteers running community cafes and lunch clubs. The course covers:
The benefits of high standards of food hygiene and food safety legislation
The incidence of food poisoning and its prevention
The role of food safety management systems in managing hazards and risk
Candidates are required to sit a multiple-choice exam at the end of the course.
The course will be delivered by Annie Casey, who is a registered REHIS (Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland) trainer.
Lunch will be provided by Abundant Borders
