Duns Fair Share
Duns Fair Share (DFS; SC053316) is a new and entirely voluntary organisation based at 15 Murray Street in the centre of town. Currently we are engaged in three major areas of activity:
Duns Social Café - the Café is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10.00 am – 12 noon. We encourage people to come along and enjoy a hot drink and snack in a warm and welcoming environment. In collaboration with Citizens Advice Bureau and SBC's What Matters Hub the café also acts as a hub for helpful information regarding energy, health, money, accommodation etc.
Duns Community Larder - the Larder is available when the café is open. We have a stock of surplus fresh, chilled and frozen food, donated by local companies and supermarkets. Customers are encouraged to make good use of food that might otherwise go to waste.
The Larder and Café are available to everyone and will operate on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis (minimum donation of £1 for Larder).
Duns Food Bank - Duns Fair Share now has responsibility for the Food Bank, which was established in 2013 by the Joint Churches in Berwickshire. The Food Bank responds to referrals from a wide range of agencies and delivers food and toiletries to clients throughout Berwickshire - currently it is facing unprecedented levels of demand.
